Richard James Lardi
Welcome! I am a certified legal translator and court interpreter with extensive expertise in English-Spanish translations. With certifications in Delaware and Virginia, I provide accurate, reliable language services tailored to legal, medical, and official proceedings.
Let’s work together to bridge the language gap and ensure clear, professional communication in all your legal and medical needs.
I have been a Spanish to English judiciary interpreter and translator for 17 years now. Over time, I have built my business on a sound foundation of honesty, integrity, hard work, and dedication. It all took root twenty years ago when I taught myself Spanish. I learned the language to assist me in my volunteer work.
The Latin American culture and people also have deep roots in my heart. Therefore, I applied myself, studied hard, and quickly became fluent in the language. And it paid off! Each year I spend about a thousand hours working as a volunteer on construction and social service projects. Since I learned Spanish, I have had the privilege of doing volunteer work in Bolivia. I currently spend a lot of time serving communities in the Dominican Republic.
I was always curious about the interpreting field, and a friend of mine encouraged me to go to court one day to observe. That experience was quite enlightening, and before long I was attending seminars and buying practice tapes. Since Spanish is not my first language, it took me a few years—and a lot of hard work—to become a certified court interpreter.
Finally, in May of 2011 my hard work and dedication paid off. I passed the test and received my certification from the Delaware Administrative Office of the Courts. Along the way, I also earned a Bridging the Gap certificate in medical interpretation.
Translation and interpretation are natural fits for me. Simply put, I have a deep love of language and linguistics in general. I constantly have my head in a grammar book, style guide, or dictionary. Yes, I’m a language geek! I also have good time management skills. I rarely miss a deadline, which is critical in this industry. One needs to be alert to respond to his clients’ needs and should never exaggerate his qualifications. I feel as though I have developed a solid reputation in this regard. If your business is in need of high-quality translation services, don’t hesitate to call.
